Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How do we arrange to have you perform at our event or venue?
Once we have been in touch and have determined that we are available on the date & time of your event, you simply need to request a contract which we will draw up. We will then email that to you with instructions. You print and sign the contract and mail it to us with the indicated deposit. From that point on, we refuse any other engagements that conflict with yours.
Q. Is our deposit refundable?
Because we will be turning down other engagements in favor of your booking, deposits are non-refundable.
Q. Can we choose which music will be played?
We welcome and encourage your input and instructions as to which music will be played for your event. Depending on the type of event, you may wish to be more or less specific as the situation demands. In the case of wedding ceremonies, we look to you for your preferences for featured selections and have provided forms and articles to assist you with that process (see our “Resources” tab). We are always available to answer questions and offer advice.
Q. I have hired a singer/organist/other musician for my wedding ceremony. How will that work?
We often work with other musicians as the need arises, and it has always gone very smoothly. Let us know what your vision is for the proceedings, and we will communicate with the other performers to bring together our talents and define our roles for the best results.
Q. Can you play outdoors?
We can and we do! It can be one of the most appealing and attractive settings to play in. We do request a sheltered/shaded place to play when at all possible (under a spreading tree or on a deck or porch under an overhang, for example). We cannot however under any circumstances play unsheltered in inclement weather as it will cause expensive damage to instruments and equipmet. We ask that you plan accordingly. We also cannont play outdoors when the temperature is less than 60 degrees Farenheit.
Q. What if we need to postpone our event?
We will make every effort to accomodate your new date and time, as long it does not conflict with any other contractual obligation that we may have.
Q. What if something goes wrong and you are unable to get to my event?
First of all, we take our committments very seriously, and it is never in our own interest to miss or loose a booked engagement. We will not cancel short of extreme circumstances, in which case we will provide competent, professional replacement musicians with the same instrumentation if we have advance notice, or a full refund if that proves impossible.
